Cost of Living in Mississauga 2022

Okay. So what does it cost to actually own a house here in Mississauga? As of April, 2022, to buy a single family home, you're looking to spend about 1.756. So $1,756,000 CAD just for a single family home here in Mississauga. Now, if you are interested in a semidetached property, which is two homes attached together, so a semi-detached property, a freehold, meaning there's no monthly fees or condo fees, you're looking at $1,269,000 CAD for a semi-detached property. And then the next one that we have on our list is a condo townhouse. So these are town homes that are not freehold, but they do have a monthly fee for maintenance and to purchase a condo townhouse, you're looking at $964,000 CAD,  close to a million dollars for a townhouse. And then if you wanted to purchase a apartment, a condominium, the average price is $735,000 CAD. So crunch those numbers, let us know.

Again, you can reach out to us and we'll let you know what that will be, or you can just Google it; there's lots of calculators online. Okay. So when you own a home here in Mississauga, expect to pay property taxes as you know, property taxes. According to my last video were not the cheapest in the country. So for example, if you had a house and your property taxes yearly would be $6,600 CAD a year to $7,700 CAD a year. And for a townhouse,you're looking at $3,600 CAD to $4,500 CAD a year for property taxes. So definitely these are things to factor in. If you're thinking about a move to Mississauga, it's not the cheapest place to buy housing or even rent, but of course, there's lots of things about Mississauga of that people love. And that's why it's one of the most popular cities in Canada.

So on the seven place, Mississauga, it's one of the largest cities in Canada, even larger than Vancouver, but despite the traffic grow as popular and fascinating metropolis, it is still 10%, less expensive than Toronto. Mississauga is not a big city, but it's impossible to walk from one place to another. So majority people drive. Now let's look at the cost that you might have to consider. If you are thinking to move to Mississauga, you can expect  to pay an average of $2100 CAD per year for car insurance making Mississauga one of the top five most expensive cities in Canada to buy insurance, not to mention maintainance luckily car registration have been weigh. So now we don't have to pay $130 million CAD per year. Gasoline prices have increased one $1.64  per liter. Driving in Canada is becoming a luxury unless you have Tesla.

In which case you will be laughing at recurring gasoline prices. So if getting your own car is not an option, midway public transportation is not cheap, but it's effective and fast. If you pay cash, you will need exact change for a single fair, so $40 million CAD. Presto is an electronic payment system. So instead of paying $4 dollars cash, you'll be paying three $3.10 with a car. So with Presto, you're gonna be saving a little bit of money. Also every time you make a transfer from midway, ride a bus or you can ride a train, your fair will be reimbursed in full to your Presto car. Monthly bus is $131 CAD and senior path for people over 65 is $65 million. You can download an app called rocketman, that's reliable and easy to track your bus route. So you don't have to stress thinking you're going to miss the bus.

Now, in terms of leaving the expenses, such as utility bills for electricity, all dependent on household and how many people you need the house, you're gonna be looking around $80 to $100  CAD. In the summer. your gas expense goes down and your electricity goes up just because of the air condition.  In the Winter, your gas goes up and your electricity goes down because of the furnace so keep that in mind. So for gas and average, you're gonna be looking to pay between 150 to 300 CAD. Cell phone package, $40 CAD. Basic home internet $60 CAD. Food and groceries, an average per person, $500, CAD per month. All depends on how much you like to go and eat out. One of the options is buy your groceries and cook at home. I'm gonna be saving money and becoming your own chef.

Just to give you an idea, one big month, $11.50. If you like to go for a beer domestic beer, $5,imported beer is $6. If you smoke 15 CAD for a pack. For healthcare, OHIP, Ontario Health Insurance Plan system is one of the best in the world. Qualifications; you need to be approved in Canada, permanent residents, or Canadian citizenship. You will get a basic healthcare for free when you are in most other parts of Canada. Childcare, infant, you are going to be looking to pay 1600 Canadian dollars a month kid one to three years old, you're gonna be looking to pay $1300 CAD a month. In terms of salary, minimum hourly wage in Mississauga $15 CAD per hour with a 15 cents increase coming up on October 1st, 2022. If Mississauga is your dream destination,make sure you're going to earn enough to cover your house and living expenses.
