If you're considering a move, we got your back when it comes to Mississauga living, all right, let's get right to the video. So if you're considering moving to Mississauga, air traffic will be the first thing that you're gonna probably notice more of because it's so close to the Pearson airport.
It's an international airport with lots of flights. In the last two years, COVID has made a significant drop in air traffic noise. But now that it's back, everything's opened up, expect a lot more traffic and locals will notice it. And especially now, they're repairing one of the runways. So there's gonna be a lot more traffic in Brampton, as well as Mississauga. If that bothers you, you should be aware of that when you're moving to Mississauga. And I'll talk about some of the neighborhoods that are affected are going to be, East credit Matlon, Meadowville village, Ontario, and redwood. So those are areas to consider when you're looking to move to Mississauga and maybe factor in if air traffic noise is something that'll bother you. You definitely should consider some other neighborhoods. Many Mississauga residents for years have been complaining about the air traffic levels and they have been only increasing since the 1970s.
It was obviously quiet, but you know, it has increased so much that people have been complaining about it for so long, but then you have other neighbors that have said that, you know what, after a few years you hardly ever notice it. So it's really personal preference and personal choice, but it is a factor that you should definitely know and consider. Okay. So another thing you'd need to consider is the weather. So around November, till about March, you're gonna experience subzero temperatures, especially around the months of January and February, where it goes around minus one, as an average daytime high, and then you have the wind chill and it goes down to about minus 20 sometimes. So it could get really, really dark and gloomy and cold. The good thing is that every home will have probably a furnace or electric heating. So you would be comfortable in your own home, order your skipped dish, put on some Netflix, and just chill.
And just try to get through it for six months. Sometimes that could be really cold. The cold here is a little different than say the west coast like Vancouver, the winters here will be sunnier. So at least it'll be sunny. The other thing that people hate is shoveling. So you're gonna get plows coming through your driveway, blocking it out. So you gotta run out quickly to shovel your driveway or that thing's gonna turn to ice. So that's another nuisance for a lot of homeowners is having to shovel your own driveway. Just thinking about shoveling gives me shivers. Now I do travel a lot. And when I come back to Mississauga, I noticed that we don't really have a special tourist site that will attract people from all over the world. I know you have the Credit Valley River there.
You've got Port Credit, but, there isn't anything really special about Mississauga, where it's known worldwide. I mean, Marilyn Monroe towers don't count. So that's out the window. But yeah, if Mississauga could at least plan for something that it could be known for worldwide, that would be awesome. Maybe another Eiffel Tower to compete with the ASEAN tower. That would be awesome. But, um, or something different that's unique. And I think that's something that the city should consider. Now, if you are a tourist and you come to Mississauga, most people will just go shopping at Square One, check out Celebration Square, go down to Streets Ville, Port credit, you know, go down to Lake Ontario. Now, if that doesn't check your boxes, then definitely go down to Toronto. They got Asian ower. That's not too far or even venture out the other way towards Niagara falls, which is about an hour's drive.
